Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a Physicist to join the Product Engineering Team within our Technology Department. Reporting to a Project Manager, the Physicist will provide optical expertise across Andor’s product portfolio, including Spectrographs, Microscopy Systems, Instruments and Cameras.

Responsibilities

  • Provide optical technical support to product management, product support, quality engineering, customer returns, production NCP support, and supply chain/suppliers.
  • Lead and deliver product enhancement projects, such as image sensor and optical instrument optimisation.
  • Conduct robust root cause analysis of recurring issues.
  • Develop and implement product quality testing strategy.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSci (or higher) in Physical Science, Physics, Electronic Engineering, or Opto‑Electronic Engineering, with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • National Diploma (or equivalent) in a Physical Science discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience may be gained through PhD studies.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this role.
