Job Overview
As an Area Sales Executive, you’ll play a key role in driving growth for your local depot by identifying, developing and winning new business across both construction and non‑construction sectors. This is a proactive, field‑based sales role focused on generating new opportunities, converting prospects into trading accounts and re‑engaging lapsed customers.
You’ll be adept at building strong internal relationships as well as external. Working closely with your depot colleagues and the hire desk to fulfil customer needs and develop long‑term relationships. You will have the support of industry‑leading operational resources, with regular investment in high‑quality machines and people. Opportunities to progress your career into Business Development, Projects, Key Accounts and beyond to sales management exist with many of our senior management team started out as individual contributors with us.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop and win new business across construction and non‑construction sectors.
- Generate new opportunities, convert prospects into trading accounts and re‑engage lapsed customers.
- Build strong internal relationships with operational teams to support customer needs.
- Work independently, managing your time and priorities effectively.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels, from site operators to managing directors.
What you’ll bring
- Proactive, commercially driven sales professional who enjoys finding opportunities, opening new conversations and turning prospects into customers.
- Experience in the hire sector or construction is ideal but not essential. A sense of drive, learning agility and self‑motivation to succeed is more important.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong resilience and adaptability, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to build strong internal relationships with operational teams to support customer needs.
What you’ll receive
- Competitive base salary between £35,000‑40,000 DOE.
- Monthly bonus scheme of 35% OTE (up to a max of 100%).
- Company car or car allowance of £6,000 plus fuel card.
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays).
