Location

Contractually based in either our Gray’s Inn Road office or Croydon office. Flexible working is supported, but you will need to travel frequently to meet with children, families and attend court. Regular team meetings and group supervision are held.

Responsibilities

• Assist families to agree on the best arrangements for the welfare and safety of children, with court assistance.
• Carry out assessment periods with children, engaging directly and gaining their views and wishes.
• Represent children’s views in court through written reports and evidence, advocating for arrangements that are in their best interests.
• Apply robust risk assessment and mediation skills throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Registered social worker with Social Work England.
• Organised, resilient, able to work independently.
• Demonstrable experience working with children and families over a sustained period as a social worker, with relevant earlier experience as appropriate.
