About The Role
You will oversee the receipt and preparation of mail for aircraft departure. You need excellent communication, numerical and writing skills for the purpose of communicating effectively with the police or other government agencies.
You will be expected to maintain concentration while completing repetitive tasks. You should have excellent observation skills to interrogate mail by profiling and x‑ray screening. You will decipher and evaluate computer screen images to identify prohibited and threatening items, including explosives, incendiary and other devices.
You will calibrate screening machines to DfT standards and must successfully pass a DfT approved Level E course and an Ishihara colour‑blindness test.
Responsibilities
Preparation of mail for aircraft departure, communication with authorities, repetitive screening tasks, identification of prohibited items, calibration of machines.
Qualifications
Excellent observational skills, effective communication, training in interpreting computer screen images and X‑rays, numerical proficiency, Level E DfT qualification, Ishihara colour‑blindness test, readiness for background screening.
Pay
£626.40 per week for full‑time hours, pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Part‑time Shift
Monday to Friday, 18:00 – 22:00.

This role requires work in a high‑security environment. A waiting period of up to 16 weeks may apply while the screening process is completed.
