Substance Use Support Worker

Role Overview

Fixed‑term or second‑ment opportunity for 12 months with the Substance Use Service (CADS) as a Band 4 Substance Use Worker.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and interventions to adults aged 16 years and over with moderate to severe complex substance use issues and mental health problems.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with a wide range of professionals to improve service delivery.
• Work autonomously within the locality while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in ongoing supervision and professional development sessions.
• Travel across the service delivery area as required.

Qualifications

• Experience with adults who have moderate to severe substance use and co‑existing mental health difficulties.
• Demonstrated interest in substance use and experience of multi‑agency, psycho‑social models of recovery.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, innovative, and dedicated to ongoing professional development.
• Legal requirement to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

• Suitable for individuals wishing to gain experience within SMS in Forth Valley.
