Job Summary
We are looking to expand our team of Animal Technicians at our world class facility in Tranent. Candidates must have a passion for working with animals, share our commitment to their welfare, and a minimum of National 5 or equivalent qualifications. In this role you will perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory compliant laboratory setting.
Role
This is a physically demanding role so you need to be active and on your feet for most of the working day. Key responsibilities include:
- Husbandry duties / delivering essential care and well‑being services to the animals
- Positive interaction with animals, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables
- Participating in animal training programmes
- Handling animals for procedures
- Performing physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintaining accurate records
- Documenting animal behaviours and activities
Salary & Benefits
Starting pay of £24,050.50 per annum, and a generous benefits package including an 8% employer contribution pension scheme, volunteering and bonus opportunities.
