Fashion and Textiles Technician (Term‑Time)Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per annumSalary: Up to £20,518 per annum (£24,523 FTE)Organisation: Chelmsford CollegeClosing Date: 17/06/2026
A dynamic, confident and skilled creative person is required to support the delivery of bespoke programmes across the department. The role involves managing Fashion and Textiles equipment and materials, communicating with the Curriculum Team, and coaching students to produce content for live client briefs and exhibitions. The technician will play a key role in inspiring, encouraging and helping young people to improve their personal and professional skills using creative production as an engagement tool.
Responsibilities
- Management of Fashion and Textiles equipment and materials.
- Communication with the Curriculum Team to support planning, implementation and delivery of lessons.
- Coaching students to produce content for live client briefs and run exhibitions.
- Ensuring lessons are delivered effectively to achieve maximum impact.
- Supporting the delivery of bespoke programmes across the department.
Qualifications
- Proficient use of a sewing machine.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience of fashion and textiles processes.
