Yard Person

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Newtownabbey HQ

Salary: £10.90-13 per hour depending on experience, with overtime and bonuses.

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm; approximate every other Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

• Check the filled tubs for contents/quantities and organize for dispatch.
• Makeup tub orders for dispatch and clean returned tubs for refilling.
• Load flat lorries and customer vehicles.
• Operate a forklift, loading shovel and shunt lorries.
• Off-load deliveries.
• Sweep the yard manually and mechanically.
• Ensure spillages are cleaned up and recycled safely where appropriate.
• Remove recycled material to bins and storage areas.
• Wash the filter press at the end of each production day.
• Carry out a daily tub count and clean used tubs on a daily basis.
• Check consumable stocks and report low levels.
• Carry out periodic maintenance checks on plant and equipment.
• Respond to audible plant alarms.
• Ensure the site is operated to comply with health and safety and environmental legislation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Ability to organize own tasks and duties.
• Ability to work on your own initiative.

Desirable

• 2 years experience working within the construction industry.
• Hold a full driving license.
• Forklift license and site handler with experience driving machinery such as loading shovel, digger.
