Title: Environmental Scientist

Location: Hybrid in Co. Wicklow or Co. Cork with site travel across Ireland required

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Environmental Consultant/Scientist to join our client's team. This role focuses on the successful delivery of contaminated land remediation projects, with a strong emphasis on the remediation of land, water and buildings following oil contamination. About the Role:

You'll play a key role in delivering site investigation and remediation projects, both in the field and from the office. The position involves regular travel, and a company vehicle is provided. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical proposals for contaminated land investigations and remediation, particularly oil spill projects.
  • Manage the scoping, preparation, and execution of site assessments and remediation plans.
  • Supervise field service teams in sampling techniques, monitoring, and response actions.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, remediation option appraisals and programmes.
  • Conduct soil waste classification and data analysis to support environmental decision-making.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders as project needs require.
  • Direct and deliver field activities including soil and groundwater testing, air quality monitoring, and remediation actions.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, providing oversight and guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Management team to ensure successful project outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in contaminated land, with solid knowledge of oil contamination and remediation methods.
  • Strong scientific background and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
  • Valid driver's licence (required).
  • A team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
