Head of Maintenance – Care Home

Oversee the maintenance of the care home facilities, ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the interior and exterior of the care home, including plumbing, electrical and garden areas.
• Carry out routine repairs, fix leaks, replace bulbs, and install/maintain equipment.
• Lead and manage the maintenance team, delegating tasks and ensuring training.
• Support the General Manager with annual budget planning and cost control.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialist works beyond the team’s expertise.
• Ensure all work is carried out with sensitivity to residents’ wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience of property maintenance with at least one trade skill.
• Full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Reliable, flexible and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in leading a maintenance team and coordinating contractors.
