Summary

Join Binnies, an RSK Group company, as a senior civil engineer to lead and coordinate dam safety projects and support team growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design output and ensure delivery within agreed timescale and budget.
  • Conduct inspections of reservoir assets and produce condition reports.
  • Supervise construction work, monitor quality, compliance with specifications and health & safety.
  • Maintain technical, safety, environmental and sustainability reviews.
  • Ensure use of company standard designs and practices.
  • Agree design cost budget, monitor performance, forecast costs to completion.
  • Record and control design changes for cost efficiency.
  • Promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment, providing open and honest feedback.
  • Satisfy customer requirements to enhance perception and satisfaction.
  • Act as an advocate for clients and communicate interests to the wider business.
  • Mentor engineering team on budgets, risk management and capability.
  • Build and maintain regular customer contacts.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Provide guidance to project managers and engineering teams.
  • Participate in career planning and learning for team members.
  • Act as a positive role model and technical specialist.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive reservoir and dam safety experience.
  • Member of, or working towards, a Reservoir Panel.
  • Proven leadership in design, inspection, construction supervision and cost control.
  • Ability to manage and develop engineering staff.
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.
  • Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites.
