Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our dynamic Business Case team. In this role you will support clients in authoring HM Treasury Green Book compliant business cases for major defence programmes, demonstrating value‑for‑money and strategic alignment.
Responsibilities
- Produce documentation and annexes throughout the business case lifecycle from project initiation to full business case.
- Coordinate diverse and challenging stakeholders and maintain excellent attention to detail.
- Communicate complex information pragmatically to develop robust evidence for business‑case approval and project funding.
- Work closely with public and private‑sector defence clients to understand requirements and develop bespoke business cases for real‑world issues.
- Apply the HM Treasury Green Book 5‑Case Model and other relevant frameworks throughout the process.

Qualifications
- Essential: Proven experience authoring strategic documentation in the defence sector, including business cases.
- Essential: Knowledge of the HM Treasury Green Book 5‑Case Model. Better Business Case accreditation is a bonus.
- Essential: Knowledge of the UK defence sector and an understanding of recent legislation, policies and procurement activities.
- Essential: Effective communicator who listens and understands client needs.
- Desirable: Security clearance (SC) or willingness to attain clearance.
- Desirable: Demonstrable leadership potential and experience delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Desirable: Financially literate, capable of conducting financial analysis and appraising investment options.
- Desirable: Proficient with Excel and Power BI for data analysis.
- Desirable: Understanding of benefits or requirements management.
- Desirable: Experience in business generation and preparing compelling proposals.
- Desirable: Commercial awareness.
