Category & Sourcing Lead – Santander UK
We are seeking a Category & Sourcing Lead to support the Head of Category & Sourcing and drive procurement transformation across Santander UK and associated group entities across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and secure executive approval of category strategies.
- Bring market insight and commercial expertise to inform procurement decisions.
- Provide benchmarking and insights to the business.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and act as a trusted advisor.
- Lead a high‑performing procurement team and develop their capabilities.
- Ensure supplier performance and value creation beyond cost savings.
- Promote and support procurement systems and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in category management (required).
- Experience managing complex contracts (required).
- Experience leading teams (required).
- Procurement transformation experience (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- CIPS qualification (preferred).
- Fluency in English (required).
Hard Skills – Commercial acumen, cost analysis and procurement systems.
Soft Skills – Stakeholder management, leadership and problem‑solving.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: £77,600.00 – £100,000.00 per annum (dependent on experience). 35‑hour working week.
