The Opportunity
As Commercial Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the Finance team in a high-visibility role, partnering closely with senior leadership to shape strategy and drive performance. Finance sits at the heart of the organisation – providing insight, challenge and direction to enable informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
What you will be doing
Strategic Leadership
- Act as the lead finance partner for key departments and programmes
- Partner with senior leadership to shape strategy and commercial decisions
- Provide clear insight, analysis and constructive challenge
- Align planning, management accounting and capital teams
- Champion strategic priorities across finance, driving engagement and delivery
Governance & Performance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning cycles
- Ensure compliance with government finance standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong financial governance, controls and risk management
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, analysis and insight
- Build robust systems and data to support future decision-making
Stakeholder & External Engagement
- Act as a trusted Finance partner to senior leadership
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funders and partners
- Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and performance insight
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support a unified, organisation-wide approach
Qualifications
- Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in commercial finance / business partnering roles
- Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders
- Experience delivering budgets, forecasts and long-range plans
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Commercially minded with the ability to turn insight into action
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex environment
