Job Summary

Senior Cost & Data Consultant in the Governance & Analytics department. Salary £61,600–£88,000 per annum. Hybrid working: 3 or more days onsite at our state‑of‑the‑art office, up to 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational and capital expenditure accounts.
  • Identify and understand spend drivers through in-depth analysis.
  • Oversee cross‑departmental operational budget planning processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on monthly budget updates and mid‑year financial plan revisions.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reporting, including KPI dashboards.
  • Act as the point of contact for cost management for relevant internal departments.
  • Ensure the organisation’s internal cost management procedures are accurate and well maintained.
  • Present financial updates to senior management when required.
  • Oversee the update and communication of all cost‑management tools.
  • Liaise with category managers to identify and implement cost‑saving potential.
  • Provide advice and guidance for category managers on cost‑management topics.
  • Manage communication with Lidl INT counterparts.
  • Work on strategic projects with high level of autonomy and leadership, including exposure to the Board of Directors within Lidl GB.
  • Work with main business stakeholders to identify service optimisation and value improvement opportunities.
  • Provide support to the wider team throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an analytical role with a track record of successfully managing cost and data analysis projects.
  • Ability to problem‑solve.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage expectations and work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and analytical skills.
  • Expertise in creating clear and concise reports and dashboards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace with a focus on Google Sheets, Apps Script, AppSheet, Looker, and BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and practices is desirable.
  • Comfortable challenging existing processes and implementing change.
  • Excellent presentation skills and assertiveness.
  • Driving licence is desirable.
