Clinical Nurse Specialist Prescriber (Addictions)

We are excited to be recruiting to a Senior Non-Medical Prescriber post to support our community drug and alcohol services, offering safe, effective, and rapid prescribing options to complex and hard-to-reach service users, and providing wider clinical leadership to teams.

Responsibilities

• Providing clinical assessments, evidence-based prescribing and follow up for patients presenting with alcohol and substance use disorders.
• Prescribing opiate substitution therapy, relapse prevention medication, and medication for medically assisted alcohol withdrawal.
• Overseeing the clinical operational day-to-day running of the service regarding prescribing and prescription management.
• Ensuring the service is safe, effective, meets all performance targets (including rapid prescribing of OST) and achieves positive client outcomes.
• Leading the ongoing development of recovery-focused, evidence-based interventions for service users.
• Providing supervision to other team members.
• Implementing and managing change, maintaining proactive communication, and developing links & partnerships with other services across the borough and within RWCDAS.

About the Service

RWCDAS is a consortium of We Are With You, St. Mungo’s, CDARS and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), with SLaM as the lead agency. We offer a multidisciplinary team and a comprehensive range of drug and alcohol treatment options across the boroughs.
