Role Overview
Working in the Cloud Platforms and SRE Chapter, this role sets the technical direction for the Cloud Platform teams across our Developer Experience and SRE squads.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Serve as a transformational leader, influencing multiple squads and sharing expert knowledge to enhance effectiveness. Coach and mentor other specialists.
- Delivery: Drive significant technology initiatives end‑to‑end, collaborate with architects, and act as product owner to craft roadmaps and steer long‑range goals.
- Engineering Excellence: Design and implement robust software solutions that solve business‑critical problems in a fast‑paced environment. Embed engineering best practice with Principal Engineers.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment and mentor effective communication within the engineering team.
- Relationship Management: Build cohesive and positive relationships with stakeholders inside and outside engineering.
- Self‑Management: Model successful skill and personal development management and promote continuous learning.
- Innovation: Drive responsible innovation and experimentation, providing insights on leading industry tools and trends.
Qualifications
- High technical skills and deep understanding of engineering practices to solve day‑to‑day workflow problems.
- Excellent understanding of SRE and Developer Experience practices and ability to apply them to improve reliability and engineering workflow posture.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code and participation in code reviews.
- Ability to lead creation of robust, functional solutions and high‑quality code while partnering with stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, encourage, and empower engineers to consistently deliver value.
