Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Brent Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a SEND Case Officer. This role will be: Hybrid HA9 0FJ 2 days office based.

The right candidate will:

  • To be responsible for drafting of individual, highly professional Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) within agreed timescales to be used as a blueprint for schools to support individual educational plans.
  • To determine the appropriate level of financial support and or provision in line with the Council’s policy for all Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • To ensure that the statutory timescale allowed for producing proposed and final EHCP’s are met.
  • To be responsible for amendment and updating of EHCPs following annual reviews and including attendance at annual review meetings as required.
  • To develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with parents/carers, young people, headteachers, SENCO’s and multi-professional teams.

We require the following:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience of being an officer in SEND ideally working most recently with secondary and post 16 age young people.
  • A high level of experience of complex SEND matters, administrative processes, including the ability to use IT systems and databases accordingly.
