Project Controls Manager – London, United Kingdom

Morson Edge (on behalf of a leading global consultancy) is recruiting for a full‑time Project Controls Manager across major infrastructure programmes in the Built Environment sector.

Role Overview

You will lead the programme controls function across major infrastructure programmes, overseeing planning, cost, risk, and performance reporting to ensure successful project delivery. You will work closely with Programme and Project Managers, providing robust insight, improving data integrity, and ensuring effective governance across all project controls processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver project controls activities across major infrastructure programmes
  • Establish and maintain effective controls processes aligned to industry best practice (including GRIP where applicable)
  • Review project proposals and ensure delivery plans are realistic, resourceable, and achievable
  • Identify resourcing requirements and coordinate with planning and delivery teams
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting on programme performance including schedule, cost, safety & environmental performance
  • Ensure high‑quality data input across cost and performance systems
  • Manage production of investment and business planning outputs at project/programme level
  • Ensure compliance with relevant governance and competency frameworks

About You

Experienced Project Controls professional with a strong background across infrastructure sectors.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling within major infrastructure programmes (e.g. aviation, rail, water or comparable sectors)
  • Strong knowledge of schedule development, control, and performance analysis
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Awareness of engineering and construction processes, procurement and contract management, and experience delivering performance reporting and ensuring data quality
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a construction, engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
