Technical Project Engineer

Salary: Up to £55,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Project Engineer to manage the engineering design and delivery of medium-voltage electrical equipment projects. Working within a highly skilled technical team, you will oversee projects from initial design through to final delivery, ensuring high-quality solutions and excellent customer outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of critical electrical infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering design and execution of medium-voltage equipment projects
  • Produce engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and provide technical guidance to customers
  • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, deployment, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders

About You

You will have a strong technical background combined with excellent project coordination and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with medium-voltage equipment, switchgear, protection systems, or transformers
  • Strong understanding of protection schemes, control circuits, and engineering documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN
  • Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer technical reviews
  • Knowledge of IEC and BS EN standards
  • Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP would be advantageous
