Job Description:

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Integration Analysts, the Integration Analyst will develop, test, maintain, deploy and support the Integration Engine across Enterprise and Epic Bridges interfaces for two NHS trusts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and support InterSystems HealthConnect Trust Integration Engine interfaces.
  • Develop, maintain and support Epic Bridges interfaces.
  • Triage Epic Bridges errors – assign to appropriate queues, prepare resolution plans, and collaborate with Epic and application teams.
  • Manage ServiceNow ticketing for interface issues within agreed SLAs.
  • Monitor TIE error alerts and resolve or escalated issues.
  • Ensure interface design documents are up to date with all changes.
  • Assess and mitigate impact of Epic upgrades on interfaces, controlling the delivery lifecycle.
  • Maintain High Availability of the Integration platform, ensuring adequate resources.
  • Support secure decommissioning of legacy integration environments, including data disposal and messaging retirement.
  • Assist in new integration projects assigned by Senior Integration Analysts and Integration Manager.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on‑call rota.

  • Internal – ITCS Technology Team, Network Teams, Server Teams, Clinical Teams.
  • External – Epic TS, System Suppliers, NHS England, SELICS, OneLondon.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications / Education

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Significant, demonstrable software and interface development experience.
  • Experience in HL7 messaging and InterSystems HealthConnect interface management.
  • Experience with Integration Engines and complex interface projects.

Essential Skills / Knowledge / Ability

  • HL7 interface development using .NET, Java or ObjectScript.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with independent judgement.
  • Expertise in at least one mainstream programming language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage change in a formally controlled environment.
  • Proficiency in managing IT data protection and information governance standards.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in a project environment and with clinician engagement.
  • Experience with NHS systems and Epic Bridges.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL/RDBMS) and NHS IT procedures.

Desirable Certifications

  • InterSystems HealthConnect.
  • Epic Bridges.
