THE 3D MAPPING ENGINEER ROLE

You will play a key role in developing and deploying LiDAR‑based mapping solutions across large and complex environments. This will involve working across the full pipeline, from data capture through to SLAM‑based localisation and point cloud processing.

You’ll work with high‑volume spatial datasets, helping to transform raw LiDAR data into accurate and usable 3D representations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong experience with LiDAR and SLAM frameworks (e.g. LOAM, Cartographer, LIO‑SAM)
  • Experience working on large‑scale mapping projects (outdoor, infrastructure, or industrial environments)
  • Solid understanding of point cloud processing (PCL, Open3D, PDAL)
  • Experience with sensor fusion (LiDAR + GPS/IMU)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++
  • Understanding of geospatial systems and coordinate frameworks

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with ROS2
  • Experience working with mobile mapping systems or surveying workflows
