Main duties of the job
The successful applicant should hold Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists MRCOG (or equivalent) and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
Responsibilities
Applicants should have established skills in Obstetrics and appropriate experience of high risk obstetric care. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Applicants should have completed SITMs/ATSMs appropriate to this specialist interest.
- Deliver Obstetrics and Gynaecology care to patients at the Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, including:
- Antenatal out-patient clinics
- Elective Caesarean section lists
- Obstetric and Gynaecology Ambulatory areas, including postnatal ward review.
- Care of in-patients on an Obstetric hot week rota (1 in 13)
- Contribute to Obstetric on call rota
- Contribute to multi‑disciplinary team meetings, including incident reviews, audit and teaching.
- Deliver 1.5PAs clinical care reflecting interests and include mentoring and support.
