Job Overview

Asset Management Inspector to support delivery of asset work across West Sussex and Hampshire, ensuring assets are safe, effective, resilient and our future investment requirements are fully understood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own workload and work flexibly according to the demands of the role, with support from colleagues.
  • Collect information on flood risk and environmental assets on site and carry out visual inspections to determine asset conditions, identify safety issues and liaise with colleagues to correct defects.
  • Process the asset information in our asset information management system.
  • Inspect assets across West Sussex and Hampshire, assess and highlight asset condition and safety issues.
  • Process and cleanse asset data.
  • Assist area and national asset management staff as required.
  • Respond to incidents as part of an incident role and be available for business continuity support; training provided.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Good numeracy, IT and literacy skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to manage a varied workload

Beneficial Experience & Skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
  • Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
  • Working under own initiative and as part of a team to achieve planned outcomes
  • Organisational skills and ability to use MS Office (strong Excel skills desirable)
  • Confidence in managing large data sets

Working Arrangements

Flexible working patterns are welcome. Please indicate your preferred arrangements in your application. The role is based at the EA Office in Chichester or Romsey; you must be within the local catchment area.
