The company is introducing life cover and related pure protection covers to its menu of products and is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to head the business unit.
Role: Insurance Sales Manager
Reporting directly to the Channels Director, the Insurance Sales Manager will lead an office‑and field‑based team of tied and independent sales advisors selling life insurance and related pure protection products, set sales goals, develop strategies, and train sales advisors and field sales agents to meet targets while ensuring client satisfaction and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong leadership, sales acumen, and interpersonal skills to motivate the team and analyse market trends for growth.
Core Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of office sales advisors and independent sales agents to achieve sales targets.
- Develop and implement a business plan and marketing strategies tailored to specific client segments.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for new and existing business.
- Track and analyse sales metrics (KPIs) to identify trends, provide feedback, and prepare forecasts.
- Set sales goals, monitor performance metrics, and provide coaching.
- Ensure all sales practices meet standards set by regulatory bodies (such as the FCA in the UK) and internal company policies.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key stakeholders.
- Handle escalated customer inquiries, mediate disputes, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
- Manage sales administration, maintain records, and report progress to senior management.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the life‑insurance industry; five (5) years in life‑insurance sales with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proficiency in CRM software, policy administration systems, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong understanding of life insurance products and services.
- Excellent recruitment, training, leadership and team‑management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
