Job Summary
CPGs CIU Rehab, Re-enablement and Recovery unit is a bed-based facility supporting people to recover and regain their independence following a period of illness, trauma, surgery, or significant event. It supports hospital discharges, prevents admission to hospital or long-term care and promotes independent living. The unit provides multidisciplinary care with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and care staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of nurses including recruitment, supervision, probation reviews, disciplinaries, staff risk assessments, PDRs, and other managerial duties.
- Lead the review, development and implementation of service strategies, including audits, action plans, incident reviews and quality assurance.
- Provide nursing and enablement services to patients within the rehab and recovery inpatient unit, assessing complex and specialist needs and developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to support individuals to remain in community settings or in their homes or nursing homes.
- Ensure nursing oversight meets the Care Quality Commission essential standards.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse 1st level.
- Post-registration qualification specialist practice level 7.
- Recognised mentor qualification and/or live on the mentors register, or willingness to work towards.
- Management qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Non-medical prescriber V300.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience working within health and social care.
- Experience at a management or leadership level.
- Evidence-based practice.
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience assessing rapidly deteriorating patients.
- Experience in service review and development including audits.
- Previous experience dealing with the Care Quality Commission.
Desirable
- Experience using SystmOne.
- Post-qualifying training beyond the scope of current qualifications.

- Current UK professional registration.

Pay and Contract
Salary range: £45,987 to £52,434 per annum. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time, flexible working.
