Overview

At Oxford Instruments Andor we are devoted to accelerating the greatest scientific advancements of our age. The Physicist will provide optical expertise across Andor’s product portfolio which includes spectrographs, microscopy systems, instruments and cameras.

Responsibilities

Deliver optical technical support to teams throughout Andor, including product management, product support, quality engineering, customer returns, production NCP support, and supply chain/suppliers. Lead and deliver product enhancement projects, including image sensor and optical instrument optimisation, robust root‑cause analysis of recurring issues, and product quality testing strategy.

Qualifications

  • 2.1 (or higher) BSc or MSci qualification in a Physical Science or related discipline such as Physics, Electronic Engineering or Opto‑Electronic engineering, and 3 years relevant experience
  • OR National Diploma (or equivalent) in a Physical Science or related discipline such as Physics, Electronic Engineering or Opto‑Electronic engineering and 5 years relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience can be gained through PhD studies.
