Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Smart Repair Specialist role based in the Croydon Area, United Kingdom. The Smart Repair Specialist will carry out high-quality cosmetic repairs on vehicles, including minor bodywork, paintwork, alloy wheel, and interior trim repairs, following brand and dealership standards. Day-to-day tasks include assessing damage, preparing accurate repair plans, performing repairs using appropriate tools and materials, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality requirements. The role involves working closely with service and sales teams to prioritize jobs, meet agreed turnaround times, and support an excellent customer experience. The specialist will also maintain a clean, safe workshop environment, complete necessary documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement in repair processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong maintenance and repair skills, with hands‑on experience in cosmetic or bodywork repair, including smart repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify the root cause of damage and determine effective repair methods.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results and maintaining professional service standards.
  • Clear and confident communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and, when required, explain repair work to customers.
  • Relevant automotive repair qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds in Vehicle Body Repair or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with premium or franchise dealerships, ideally with Mercedes-Benz or similar brands, is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, adherence to health and safety procedures, and a valid UK driving license.
