About The Role
We are looking for 3 Electricians to join Nottingham City Council’s Enviroenergy department as Lead Electrical Engineers. The post holder will undertake high quality electrical work, mechanical installations and associated infrastructure works of a specialist nature on a local and national basis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Service and maintain the current prepayment solution in district heating properties.
- Install EE Monitor decentralised energy payment metering solutions, including fittings, data loggers and heat meters.
- Commission and perform acceptance testing on mechanical/electrical products and complete necessary quality sign‑off documentation.
- Lead the prepayment metering upgrade project for 5,000 domestic properties in the city.
- Remove old prepayment units and install new ones, including commissioning and completion of minor works certificates.
- Travel across the UK for national domestic property works, with occasional overnight stays.
- Participate in the on‑call rota.
- Help develop and deliver new solutions to the decentralised energy market.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- NVQ (or equivalent) Level 3 qualification in an electrical discipline – essential.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations & Achievement Measurement 2 (AM 2).
- Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Experience working in a customer‑facing environment.
- Experience performing acceptance testing on mechanical/electrical products and completing quality sign‑off documentation.
- Full, current driving licence.
- Electrical Inspection and Testing – 2391 – essential.
