Term: Permanent

Salary: GBP47,000–GBP52,000, dependent on experience

About the Role

My client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Dudley area. They are an expert in their field and provide engineering solutions to a variety of industries.

Qualifications & Attributes

• HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD operation position
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient using 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work well alone and as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Use CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Liaise with manufacturing providers
• Be involved in final assembly of products
• Create required documentation for design, project reports, and plans
• Update 3D models and drawings
• Input parts into MRP system to create BOMs
• Check drawings for sign off
• Work in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
