Consultant Psychiatrist Private Addictions Ward

Part‑Time | 30 hours per week | Site based

Salary is £176,000 FTE

You will join the team on the Private Addictions Ward

Main duties of the job

As Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director, you will provide both clinical and strategic leadership across the hospital. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of medical staff
  • Overseeing appraisals, revalidation, and performance management processes
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, healthcare policy, and best practice standards
  • Contributing to strategic decision‑making as part of the Senior Management Team
  • Maintaining effective medical cover, including out‑of‑hours and leave arrangements
  • Leading on investigations, complaints, and incident management
  • Driving continuous improvement through learning from incidents, feedback, and outcomes
  • Managing your own clinical caseload and maintaining high standards of care
  • Representing the hospital with external stakeholders, commissioners, and partners

Person Specification

Requirements:

  • We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with strong clinical expertise and proven leadership capability. You will have:
  • CCT (or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
