Senior Residential Support Worker – Wolverhampton
Location: Wolverhampton
Contract type: Vacancy Contract
Salary: Up to £37,000 (includes sleep‑in allowance of £70.47 per shift, average 11 per month)
Job type: Full‑time
Responsibilities
- Plan shifts with Residential Support Workers.
- Ensure all risks are safely managed in line with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the team regarding the day’s plans.
- Provide reports and documentation reflecting the progress of each young person using paper‑less systems and tools.
- Review young people’s care plans and associated documentation.
- Participate in an in‑depth quality and bespoke training package.
- Attend staff meetings and proactively develop and improve the service model.
- Act as an advocate for the young person while applying a positive parenting model.
- Use positive support strategies, including de‑escalation tools and techniques, such as the in‑house PRICE training.
Requirements
- Provide positive parenting.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Sound working knowledge of current legislation, e.g., Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards).
- Open‑mind, empathetic, calm and professional manner.
Essential Requirements
- Full manual driving licence.
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or working towards it.
- Participation in continuing professional development to support the needs of young people.
- Clear passion and desire to support children and young people.
- Active member of a progressive and committed team.
