Early Years Educator

YMCA Newark & Sherwood is looking for an Early Years Educator to join our nursery. This 40‑hour, 4‑day per week position works on a rota basis during nursery hours of 7.30am–6pm, Monday to Friday in a purpose‑built, child‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, stimulating activities that support children’s play, learning, and development.
• Support children as they make progress in their developmental milestones.
• Maintain a safe and healthy nursery environment, including food safety and hygiene.
• Interact positively with parents/carers to discuss children’s progress and foster strong relationships.
• Contribute to the nursery’s compliance with Ofsted standards and inspections.

Qualifications and Knowledge

• Level 3 or above in Early Years and Childcare.
• First Aid certificate and Pediatric First Aid qualification.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices, food safety, safeguarding children and young people, SEN Code of Practice, and safeguarding.

• Ofsted‑registered nursery with space for 90+ children across three age‑related rooms.
• Facilities include a climbing wall, strength and conditioning studio, bike track, and dance studio.
