Carer Support / Assessment Worker – £13.90 per hour – Crewe, Cheshire

Making Space is a values‑led charity that helps people live happier, healthier lives. We are looking for a Carer Support / Assessment Worker to join our Cheshire East Carers Service.

The role

As a Carer Support / Assessment Worker, you will work directly with unpaid carers across Macclesfield, surrounding areas and the south of Cheshire East. Through home visits and one‑to‑one support, you will provide advice, information and practical guidance that helps carers manage their caring responsibilities and access the support available to them.

Hours

30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete carer assessments in the community and carers’ homes.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to carers.
  • Help carers develop coping strategies and improve wellbeing.
  • Signpost carers to local services and support networks.
  • Share information about mental health and available support services.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with carers.

The person

You do not need previous care sector experience or qualifications. Full training will be provided.

You will:

  • Share our values and commitment to helping others.
  • Be a great listener with strong communication skills.
  • Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
