As part of our continued growth, we are establishing a new children’s residential home in South East London and are seeking passionate individuals to join us on this exciting journey.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in South East London, United Kingdom. The Therapeutic Support Worker will support children and young people within a residential care setting by providing day‑to‑day care, emotional support, and guidance. The role involves building positive relationships, promoting independence and life skills, supporting young people’s development, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to a safe, structured, and therapeutic home environment. You will work closely with colleagues and external professionals to ensure young people receive the highest standard of care and support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably within a residential care or support setting
  • Understanding of child development and the emotional and behavioural needs of young people
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practice
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with external agencies and professionals
  • Experience in report writing, record keeping, and maintaining accurate case records
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviour using therapeutic and trauma‑informed approaches
  • A commitment to supporting young people to develop independence, confidence, and positive life skills
  • Willingness to work towards or hold a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
