About the Role
Applications are welcomed from individuals who have experience supporting adults with a learning disability working within health or social care services, supporting the assessment, treatment and overall wellbeing needs of those individuals from admission to discharge.
Service Context
The service supports adults with a learning disability presenting with complex physical and additional support needs, including behaviours that may challenge. It operates an assessment and treatment unit (Mayfield), a bespoke purpose-built unit (Tayview) and a forensic low secure regional unit (Daleview).
Responsibilities
- Work across inpatient services, rotating where service priority requires.
- Support individuals during their inpatient stay as part of the nursing team.
- Deliver targeted clinical duties under supervision.
- Assist individuals with behaviours that may challenge.
- Provide personal care support.
- Accompany individuals to out-of-service appointments.
- Help individuals access the community to build confidence from admission through to discharge.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with individuals, families, multidisciplinary teams and third‑sector agencies.
- Evidence of training in the SVQ programmes for Health Care Support Workers at Level 3.
- Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
Additional Information
Part‑time post, salary pro‑rata (if applicable).
