Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator with strong experience working primarily with aluminium materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality welded and fabricated components to precise specifications, ensuring excellent finish, strength, and accuracy in line with engineering drawings and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and weld aluminium components using MIG and/or TIG welding processes.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Prepare aluminium materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting.
  • Carry out precise welding to achieve high-quality, clean, and structurally sound joints.
  • Assemble fabricated parts accurately within tight tolerances.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Carry out minor repairs and rework where necessary.
  • Maintain welding equipment and fabrication tools in good working condition.
  • Work to production schedules and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures, especially when working with welding equipment and aluminium fumes/dust.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong focus on aluminium.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding (essential); MIG welding experience advantageous.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
  • Experience using fabrication tools and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a practical mindset.
  • Coding or welding certification (e.g. TIG/MIG qualifications).
  • Experience working in this environment.
  • Experience with thin-gauge aluminium fabrication.
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage.
