Rail Semi Skilled Fitter

Location: Birkenhead

Pay: £14.88 per hour (PAYE goes up to £16.53 after completing competencies)

Progression: Up to £31,811 upon successful completion of competencies

Role

We are currently recruiting for a Rail Component Cleaner / Stripper to join a modern and well-maintained facility in Birkenhead. This is a hands‑on role focused on the stripping, cleaning, and preparation of rail components as part of rolling stock overhaul operations. You will be working as part of a friendly, professional team in a clean environment, using new technologies and updated processes to support efficient and high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stripping down rail components and assemblies
  • Cleaning parts to required standards using appropriate methods
  • Preparing components for inspection, repair, or reassembly
  • Following safety, quality, and process procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working area

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm (Unpaid lunch breaks) Enjoy an early finish every Friday
