About This Role
We are looking for a 30‑hour experienced medical receptionist to join our busy and friendly practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients, clinicians and external organisations both face‑to‑face and by telephone.
- Make appointment bookings and respond to a variety of enquiries.
- Process prescriptions.
- Open and sort post and take deliveries.
- Scan, copy or file documents and patient notes.
- Receive payments from patients.
- Act as a central point of communication, taking messages and carrying out actions as required.
- Offer general support to colleagues, clinicians and patients as required.
Experience
- Good customer‑service skills.
- Strong communication skills.

- Good team player.
- Computer literate and comfortable with various software systems.
- Good attention to detail and accurate data input.
- Ability to follow processes and deliver consistent working methods.
Desired Experience
- Experience working in a GP practice.
- Experience with the EMIS clinical system.
Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and maths.
- NVQ Level 2 in administration (desirable).
Additional Requirements
Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
Remuneration and Contract
Salary: £12.75 per hour.
Contract type: Permanent, Part‑time (30 hours per week).
