We are currently recruiting an experienced Children’s Social Worker (Standard) to join Knowsley Children’s Services on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking for a well-paid role within a supportive local authority.
About the role:
Working with young people aged 14–18, you will provide high-quality social work support to children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are effectively met. The role requires a strong commitment to relationship-based practice, enabling you to build meaningful and trusting relationships with young people during a critical stage of their lives.
You will work within a strengths-based framework, promoting safety, resilience, and positive transitions into adulthood while responding effectively to complex safeguarding concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children in care aged 14–18.
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with young people and their support networks.
- Undertake assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with statutory requirements.
- Support young people in preparing for independence and adulthood.
- Promote educational achievement, health, wellbeing, and positive life outcomes.
- Develop and implement effective safety plans and risk management strategies.
- Respond to contextual safeguarding concerns, including:
- Child exploitation
- Peer group influences
- Community-based risks and harm
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, education providers, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports.
