Are you passionate about precision, quality and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are looking for a driven and detail-orientated Technical Process Operator to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering high-quality products.
In this hands‑on position, you will be the heart of our production process – compounding syrups, running lab tests, and ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards before they hit the production line.
Duties & Responsibilities
- To compound syrups as per process instructions & supplied process order recipes
- Set up and prepare machinery and equipment for production, processing and testing
- Measure, weigh, mix and load raw materials into mixing equipment.
- Reconciliation of materials via SAP ECC 6.0
- Check meter and instrument readings, and adjust where necessary
- Collect samples and carry out tests / analysis to agreed sampling plan and methods (water, effluent and CIP concentrations).
- Place raw ingredients in quarantine as required. Ensure all documentation is completed and follow up the corrective action taken.
- Complete testing and monitoring of QS, RTD (Refractometer, Density, PH, UV spectrometer, Titrations and HPLC).
- Make up reagents and stock solutions for laboratory testing
- Complete daily picks to ensure ingredients for the following day’s production
- Shutdown and clean plant, machinery and equipment (following set procedures), and support minor maintenance work
- Update computerised I.T systems, processes and records.
- Ensure ALL relevant written records are complete & accurate including shift process reports
- Report problems with the production process, laboratory testing or equipment to relevant persons
- Communicate with numerous departmental managers to relay important information relating to product failures, quality faults & machine or equipment faults.
- Maintain a flexible attitude to assisting other team members, offering help, and sharing knowledge where possible.
- Involvement in operations of water treatment and effluent plants
- Involvement with recipes process development / optimisation
- Involvement with COSHH and risk assessments
- Use of problems as a learning opportunity, using the appropriate problem‑solving tools and techniques to lead to the desired outcome.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

- Always cooperate with the employer on health and safety matters.
- Use safety PPE provided, report missing or damaged items. Eye protection and white coats should be worn when handling raw materials or carrying out lab analysis.
- Follow procedures and risk assessments, highlight non‑compliance immediately.
- Report hazards, defects, and faults promptly. Report immediately to the most senior member of staff present on the premises when a hazard, fault, or defect becomes apparent.
- Carry out instructions on safety notices and hazard signs.
- Follow COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations on the correct usage of all chemicals.
- Adopt a ‘clean as you go’ policy, in which you clean the work area and any equipment you have used when the task is completed.
Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities
- Follow all site hygiene rules.
- Ensure procedures are followed, appropriate documentation completed, and non‑conformances highlighted if they occur.
- Maintain traceability of all finished product components.
- Support food safety to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.
