Job Description

  • Mechanical Inspection and Repair works on mobile plant including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.
  • Mechanical refurbishment of pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and dock specific equipment (capstans / winches / Gates).
  • Mechanical Inspection, Servicing and Testing of long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
  • Mechanical Inspections, Servicing and Testing of brake units on long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
  • Diesel engine servicing (road vehicles / forklift trucks / cherry pickers).
  • Vessel services – connection of water supply and cooling discharge hoses to dockside infrastructure and onboard vessels.
  • Interpret Parts Manuals, Schematic Drawings and Parts Lists.
  • Interpret Oral & Written Instructions.
  • Interpret Health & Safety Arrangements.
  • Operate Equipment & Tools e.g., lathes & milling machines.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Maintenance Fitter in a similar environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair work.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
