Bank Support Worker – Domestic Abuse (Female)
The Nelson Trust is a leading charity supporting people affected by addiction, trauma and the criminal justice system to achieve recovery and long-term positive change. We are recruiting compassionate and reliable Bank Support Workers to join our team in Swindon. This residential service provides a safe, supportive environment for women experiencing domestic abuse and complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health challenges, and offending behaviours. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of residents while offering empathetic, trauma‑informed support.
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Hours: Zero hour contract
Location: Swindon
What Will You Do
- Maintain the safety and security of residents and the building at all times.
- Carry out regular property checks, including communal areas and resident rooms.
- Control access to the building and complete routine patrols.
- Provide practical and emotional support to women with complex needs.
- Manage incidents, emergencies, and complete accurate reports.
- Maintain records and deliver clear handovers between shifts.
- Promote a clean, supportive, and structured environment.
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational procedures.

- Experience or understanding of working with vulnerable women and complex needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to best practice.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in building therapeutic relationships.
- Good IT and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Empathetic, non‑judgemental approach with strong professional boundaries.
