The Netherton Hub is a major new energy infrastructure development in Aberdeenshire, part of SSEN Transmission’s Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) programme.
Responsibilities
- Identify temporary works designs required to complete permanent works.
- Produce temporary works design briefs with sketches, layouts, design standards and client requirements.
- Act as point of contact between site staff and temporary works designers for design development, issuance and changes.
- Control document control for the temporary works register and filing of associated briefs, drawings, calculations and sketches.
- Oversee the permit‑to‑load process, ensuring installations comply with the temporary works design.
- Support the conception, detailed design, planning, delivery and evaluation of temporary works solutions.
- Assess and identify temporary works requirements on each project, including scaffold, excavation support, formwork, piling platforms, access roads, traffic management, catenary systems, steelwork, overhead line diversions and other specialised solutions.
- Develop accurate design briefs and maintain schedules to track and control all temporary works schemes.
- Identify and coordinate competent designers, suppliers and operatives for each type of temporary works.
- Undertake simple (Category 0/1) temporary works designs.
- Serve as a focal point for temporary works across multiple sites, supporting Temporary Works Supervisors with inspection and compliance with BBUS procedures.
- Ensure business processes and systems for Temporary Works are implemented and maintained.
- Audit and assess competency of BBUS projects and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Civil or Structural Engineering qualification, minimum of HNC/HND.
- CITB approved Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
- Experience in temporary works, civils or utilities with a wide range of construction experience and sound engineering principles.
- Awareness of BS5975:2008 procedural control requirements.
- Excellent communication and team‑working skills.
- Sound health and safety knowledge relating to site and design activities.
- Good IT skills.
