Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer you a Pharmacy Support Worker position in the aseptic unit.

Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day operations of the aseptic unit, including preparation, labelling, assembly and supply of aseptic products.
  • Ensure all work follows SOPs and GMP, maintaining high accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring, documentation and stock control processes.
  • Collate and complete daily documentation for the aseptic unit.
  • Provide reception duties: greet health‑care professionals, take calls and receive/sent prescriptions while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Escalate issues promptly to maintain service quality and timeliness.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Health and physical abilities sufficient for the post, with reasonable adjustments as required.
  • Commitment to completing an in‑house training programme within six months of starting.
  • Willingness to work late evenings, bank holidays and weekends as per rota.

Desirable:

  • GCSE or equivalent grades A*‑C (or 4‑9) in English and Maths.
  • GCSEs in science‑based or relevant subjects.
  • Previous pharmacy, laboratory or related health and social care experience.
  • Experience in stock control.
