Biogas Day Shift Operator

Overview

Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a leading innovator in renewable energy production, specialising in biogas plants, to recruit a Day Shift Operator on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract for their site in Dufftown.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Process Team Leader.

• Operating the Anaerobic Digestion plant and associated equipment via automated (SCADA) and manual inputs.
• Carrying out regular plant walkarounds to assess condition and capability of plant equipment, including taking meter readings daily.
• Completing minor maintenance tasks and recording findings on CMMS.
• Carrying out basic lab testing.
• Operating mobile plant such as a telehandler or forklift truck.
• Ensuring good standards of housekeeping are maintained.
• Monitoring the plant remotely once trained and competent.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of NC level in a related engineering discipline (mechanical/electrical/chemical engineering practice) or equivalent qualifications, backed up with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in an operations process operator role.
• A full UK driving licence (essential).
