Bank Facilities Assistant
NHS AfC: Band 2
We are looking to recruit staff to work in our Facilities Services in our catering, domestic and porting departments at Wathwood Hospital.
This will be a zero hour contract to cover all needs of our service.
To maintain a high quality patient and customer focused service within the Facilities areas delivering a high standard of cleanliness, infection prevention, provision of safe, serving patients nutritious food in line with food hygiene legislation, to be aware of associated health and safety issues and to participate in planned mandatory and professional training.
Main duties of the job
Full training will be given in all departments and uniform will be provided. The successful candidate will fit in with our current rotas covering an array of different shift times over 7 days, including bank holidays.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Facilities provides a wide range of non clinical support services to patients, staff and visitors. The services provided include Cleaning, Catering, including serving patient food and Portering.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Qualifications
- A good general level of education
- Basic literacy and numeracy
Training
- COSHH, Sharps and Manual Handling Procedures
Experience
- Experience or working within a catering, cleaning or portering environment
- Previous Experience in Facilities Services areas
Skills
- Ability to converse tactfully and within identified guidelines with patients, visitors and staff
- Ability to be flexible in approach
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety
- Awareness of Low Secure Hospitals
- Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Basic knowledge of food safety

Contractual
- Shift flexibility may be required from time to time, including weekend and Bank Holidays
- Requirement to attend mandatory and job specific training
- Comply to Personal Appearance Standards and Personal Protective Equipment (Staff Uniform)
- A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals per the Equality Act 2010
