Job Title: Preservation Technician
Location: Hinkley Point C (On-site)
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Preservation Technician to support the safe storage, handling, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical materials at a major Material Storage Facility on Hinkley Point C. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role suited to someone with experience in industrial environments and a strong focus on quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preservation and de‑preservation activities in line with vendor and project specifications
- Conduct routine inspections of stored materials to ensure quality and compliance standards are maintained
- Maintain accurate preservation records, including condition reports and inspection logs
- Operate preservation equipment safely and effectively
- Identify and report defects, deterioration, or non‑conformances promptly
- Work closely with material control, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure correct handling processes
- Adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental procedures
Requirements
- Essential:
- Experience in a preservation, materials handling, or warehouse role within an engineering or construction environment
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical components and materials
- Understanding of preservation methods and health & safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and use inventory/documentation systems
- Desirable:
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification
- Experience on large‑scale infrastructure or nuclear projects
- Familiarity with quality management systems
