About the Role

We’re proud to share that our school has been recognised as a top‑performing primary school nationally, receiving a top 10% badge for employee agency in the Spring 2026 census with The Engagement Platform (TEP).

You will be instrumental in our mission to provide every pupil with a great education and real choices in life, regardless of their background. As an Upper Key Stage 2 Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring pupils leave primary school with the knowledge, confidence and character they need to succeed in secondary school and beyond.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who understands the importance of the final years of primary school. You will support pupils to deepen their understanding, strengthen their learning habits and prepare successfully for the next stage of their education. You will also play an important role in the wider life of the school, working closely with colleagues, families and the community to ensure every child is known, supported and challenged.

For suitable candidates, there may be scope for additional subject leadership responsibilities, including a TLR, providing the opportunity to take the next professional step into leadership and contribute to the development of curriculum and teaching across the school. Early Career Teachers are also encouraged to apply.

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of high‑quality teaching and learning
  • Have experience of, or the potential to, raise attainment and secure strong outcomes for pupils
  • Be passionate about getting to know every child and using these relationships to provide a caring and personalised approach to learning
  • Share Ark Bentworth’s values and mission to positively influence pupils’ lives
  • Have strong communication, organisation and adaptability skills
  • Be committed to reflection, professional development and working as part of a collaborative team

Benefits

  • A small, intimate and community approach to teaching and leadership
  • Extensive professional development opportunities as part of the Ark Schools network, including 10 annual Inset Days
  • Being part of a friendly, innovative and collegiate working environment
  • Utilising the Ark Curriculum Plus partnership to adapt and deliver a knowledge‑rich, ambitious and systematic curriculum
  • Ark salaries are 2.5% higher than national main pay scales
  • An attractive location with good public transport links and a school car park
  • A school committed to the enjoyment, achievement and wellbeing of all

We are committed to fostering team spirit, responsibility and care for others. Every child deserves equal opportunities to learn, achieve and thrive. Through high‑quality teaching and a nurturing school culture, our pupils develop the knowledge, skills and character they need to become confident, independent, determined and ambitious learners.

Ark is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in its academies. All employees undergo an enhanced DBS check and must disclose any unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings. Disclosure of a criminal background will not automatically disqualify a candidate; it will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis according to the nature and timing of the offence(s).
