Overview

At Avery Healthcare – award‑winning care home – we’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic Wellbeing and Activities Assistant to support our Wellbeing Coordinator at Guilford House Care Home in Guildford.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the Wellbeing Coordinator in planning, organising and running a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents’ physical, cognitive and social well‑being.
  • Maintain a safe living and working environment and promote a positive professional image of the home.
  • Report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the coordinator, home manager and care staff.
  • Order and prepare supplies required for upcoming activities.
  • Establish links with local community groups (schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage wider community access and promote inter‑generational activity.

About you

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how interaction contributes to general well‑being.
  • Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to stimulating, quality activities.
  • Prior experience working with older people in a residential nursing or dementia setting.
  • Live the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable.
